Not Returning to UB

Non-returning students are students who are currently enrolled, but who have decided to discontinue their education at UB, and do not intend to continue enrollment in subsequent terms. This applies to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Please complete the form below if you do not intend to return to UB. The Office of the Registrar will update your record once this form is submitted. Please refer to the Not Returning to UB Checklist to review additional information and other important steps you may need to take to finalize your departure from UB.

If you are considering returning to UB within one year, please review the Undergraduate Catalog (search for Leave of Absence requirements and application procedures).

Students who leave UB without a formal Leave of Absence must complete an Admissions Re-Entry Form should they wish to return.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: In addition to completing this form, it is important that you contact International Student Services (ISS) to discuss how your plans will affect your immigration status. Please visit the ISS Office in 210 Talbert Hall, or contact them by email or phone at iss@buffalo.edu or 716-645-2258.

GRADUATING STUDENTS: Students who will not be returning because they are graduating do not need to complete this form. Please be sure that you have applied for graduation.

Important SUNY Policy

When a student is registered for courses, the student assumes responsibility for paying all charges associated with those courses. A student must pay even if not one class was attended unless the courses have been dropped or resigned according to the published deadlines, which are found on the student calendars.

It is extremely important to use your HUB Student Center (via MyUB) to drop courses before any financial penalty is assessed. Additionally, it is important that other services you were scheduled to receive are cancelled separately, such as a residence hall room, a meal plan, student medical insurance and financial aid.
